Awareness in and

of itself

is curative

Hello, I'm Rachel, welcome. I firmly believe there are times in life when we all need support and that therapy can be a catalyst for real, positive change. I therefore provide a supportive space for you to discuss your difficulties, pain, fears and dissatisfaction as well as your dreams for the future. I also understand that this can be a challenge, so I offer a warm, down to earth approach that makes you feel welcome, respected and at ease. Together,  we can help you gain a greater insight and awareness of yourself, your relationships, your behaviour, your thoughts, your history and the patterns in your life - and understand how change can occur to help you feel happier and healthier.

About Me

I'm passionate about helping my clients learn, grow and gain a deeper understanding of themselves. And I believe that change can occur when we consciously understand our behaviour and needs, and are given the space to explore life's patterns, I will work with you to develop a trusted and respectful relationship and provide a confidential, non-judgemental and empathic environment.

This gives you the time, space and support to explore challenges in your emotional and internal life, past and present.

I will always treat you and your story with care and sensitivity, and it is through our therapeutic relationship that I hope you will come to terms with your experiences and set a path to feeling happier and healthier.

myself just as I am then I can change'

My Experience

I'm a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) working in accordance with their ethical framework for good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I hold a CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and enjoy regular training as part of my ongoing personal development. I have a degree in Psychology and Business Studies and before becoming a counsellor, spent 15 years managing teams and mentoring individuals at various organisations.

I have experience of working with a wide range of client issues, including relationship issues, low mood, anxiety, depression, abusive relationships, loneliness, lack of purpose, bereavement, family dynamics and relational issues, low self-esteem, adjusting to life changes, self-harm, anger, stress at work and feeling stuck.

I have worked within different organisations, supporting people in their day-to-day challenges and helping them make the right choices within their personal and professional lives. I have also mentored and coached people experiencing burnout, redundancy, workplace stress and anxiety, allowing them to explore their emotional challenges and needs.

Having worked with children in their early years and their families, I understand the demands of family life and the difficulties that can arise. Exploring these can help you understand and improve how you relate to family members and other people in your life.

Where I work

I am located at the The Eaves, 43 Downing Street, Farnham, Surrey, GU9 7PH, and at my private practice at Runfold Counselling, Badshot Farm, St Georges Road, Runfold, Farnham, GU9 9HR, both locations are conveniently located close to Aldershot, Farnham, Guildford, Fleet and surrounding areas.
